CAPACITY BUILDING
In order to be able to tackle the issues related to child protection in a collaborative manner, CPA considers it very important to build the capacity of its Member Organisations and professionals working for and with children.
The means of achieving the required knowledge and skills are mainly be through workshops and trainings.
Activities: Capacity building of duty bearers: child rights; child sexual abuse and exploitation; alternative discipline practices;
Targets: Teachers; law enforcers; parents; professionals such as nurses, community workers, social workers, health professionals; children
Awareness-raising
Under this strategy, CPA strives to provide information and knowledge on child rights and protection concerns which will serve as a foundation to move towards the prevention of child abuse, in particular sexual abuse and exploitation. CPA endeavours to achieve this through media programmes and sensitisation workshops.
Activities: Sensitisation on child rights and protection, including the Children’s Act.
Targets: Communities; religious leaders; children; parents; law enforcers.
